How we work
Counselling Conversations for Individuals
We would like to meet you for half an hour to see whether Counselling Conversations are right for you and to answer any questions you have. This first meeting is free. During it we will establish and agree together what you wish to work with. We will also look at and agree how often you need to come. This will be reviewed regularly with you as you progress. Usually we agree between four and six as the initial number of sessions. The last counselling conversation tends to come when you are able to move on in your life.
Counselling Conversations for Couples
After an initial free half hour meeting to see whether Counselling Conversations are right for a couple, we normally follow an eight session cycle which repeats itself as necessary by agreement between the couple and the therapist. In the first two sessions the couple meet with the therapist to lay out their problem and the possibilities that exist for them as a couple. Each member of the couple then meets with the therapist to explore and understand their own concerns more about the relationship. Finally there are another two sessions where everybody meets to look at where the couple are and the possibilities that are now open to them.
Counselling Conversations for Parents and People caring for Children
We like to work flexibly and in agreement with people who care for children. To do this we offer, as with individuals and couples, an initial free half hour meeting to establish what you need help with and whether Counselling Conversations are right for you and the child or children being cared for. We will also look at whether there are other people involved with caring for the child that you would like to include in the conversation. Usually we would expect to agree an initial number of sessions, between four and six with further work agreed by us together. To find out more please contact Jenny.
Do the one thing you think you cannot do. Fail at it. Try again. Do better the second time. The only people who never tumble are those who never mount the high wire. This is your moment. Own it."
